Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Research Associate to join our dynamic team and contribute to the industry's development through data-driven insights and research.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on industry trends, both domestically and internationally.
- Ensuring accuracy of published industry data on MUFAP’s website.
- Efficiently organizing, storing and analysing both financial and non-financial data with attention to security and confidentiality.
- Gathering data pertaining to rules and regulations governing asset management companies, updating amendments, identifying new rules in other regional asset management industries and suggesting improvement for local industry.
- Identifying key changes in regulations upon promulgation of revised or new regulation and preparing briefs for focused deliberation by for the association's leadership and members.
- Preparation and publication of research commentaries, newsletters, year book, annual reports and other publications.
- Prepare and contribute to the development of educational content such as social media forums, website, newsletters, and industry reports to enhance public and investor awareness.
- Assist in organizing seminars, webinars, or workshops to educate retail and institutional investors about mutual fund products.
- Acting as a secretary to any working group/ committee nominated by the Board and prepare agendas, reference papers, and minutes of those committee meetings.
- Assist internal teams with data analysis and project support as required.
- Any other task assigned by the HOD related to scope of job.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (Master’s/ CFA Candidates preferred).
- Passed minimum level I of the CFA exam (Preference will be given to registered CFA candidates)
- 1-3 years of experience in financial research, analysis, or similar roles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or other relevant software). MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio etc.). Excellent excel skills in general and financial modelling skills in particular.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
